An interesting part of my photographic journey has been the way I’m always on the look out for good light. Without knowing what I was doing, I’ve been training my mind to find quality light and envision what kind of photographs I could make in it. Beyond that, I feel like I’m getting better at not just reacting to good light but actually anticipating it and visualizing the final product.
I’m sure every good photographer has gone through this, and probably about five minutes after they picked up a camera, so I know I’m a little slow on this. But I feel like I’m getting better pictures now because I’m putting more thought into the process before I even pick up a camera. I’m beginning to better understand light and how to use it to suit my needs rather than the other way around.
