I still don’t feel comfortable shooting, developing, and scanning film. Every time I got through a roll I’m disappointed in the outcome. It’s frustrating because with digital I can envision a shot and execute somewhat decently. With film I still can’t produce consistent results.

Chain link fence

The past two rolls have been most frustrating to me. After looking at the results I’ll blame the camera, the film, the dev tank, the scanner, basically anything except for me. But I know that a poor craftsman blames his tools. The fault lies with me.

School building

I’ll go through a day or two where I know this is the last roll of film I’ll ever shoot. I’m just going to put my cameras up and shoot exclusively digital. But then I pull a camera out of a bag or down off a shelf and start shooting and know in my heart that I’ll never be able to give this up. I can only get better at it.
